Power Steering Pump to Hydraulic Booster Pressure Line













Removal and Installation

NOTICE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.

NOTE: The hydraulic booster jumper line and the pressure line can be serviced separately. It is not necessary to disconnect the jumper line from the hydraulic booster when servicing the pressure line.

All vehicles

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle Jacking and Lifting.

All vehicles except 6.0L diesel

2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

6.0L diesel vehicles

3. Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to Cooling System &/or Engine Block Heater.

4. Remove the power steering pump pulley. For additional information, refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Power Steering Pump Pulley.

All vehicles

5. NOTE: Thoroughly clean all foreign material from the threads.

NOTE: The hydraulic booster jumper line and the pressure line can be serviced separately. It is not necessary to remove the jumper line from the hydraulic booster when servicing the pressure line.

Disconnect the pressure line-to-hydraulic booster jumper line fitting.

- To install, tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

6. Detach the pressure line from the pressure line clip.

7. NOTE: Thoroughly clean all foreign material from the threads.

Disconnect the pressure line-to-pump fitting.

- To install, tighten to 75 Nm (55 lb-ft).

8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
