TURNS/OVER PARKING LOT SPEED BUMPS
FORD:
2010 Edge
ISSUE
Some 2010 Edge Front Wheel Drive (FWD) vehicles built from 5/15/2009 through 1/4/2010 may exhibit a creaking-type noise when turning left or right, or driving over parking lot speed bumps. This concern may be caused by the transaxle support insulator.
ACTION
Follow the service procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Using a Chassis Ear, access the transaxle support insulator from under the hood. Proceed to Step 2.
2. Next road test the vehicle to determine if the transaxle support insulator is the source of the noise by turning the steering wheel left to right and/or driving over parking lot speed bumps.
a. If the transaxle support insulator is the source of the noise, proceed to Step 3.
b. If the transaxle support insulator is not the source of the noise, discontinue this procedure and perform normal Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) diagnostics. Refer to WSM, Section 100-04.
3. Replace the transaxle support insulator. Refer to WSM, Section 307-01.
