Removal and Installation

1. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

2. NOTE: Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal.

Loosen the block heater retaining screw and remove the block heater.

- To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).

3. NOTICE: Route the block heater power cable away from hot or rotating components, or damage to the cable can occur.

NOTE: Lubricate the block heater O-ring seal with clean engine coolant prior to installation.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
