Pinpoint Test E: DTC U2472

Normal Operation

The Parking Aid Module (PAM) receives the ignition switch state from the Smart Junction Box (SJB) as a network message.

- DTC U2472 (Unexpected Ignition State) - a continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the PAM receives an unknown ignition switch state message.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- SJB
- Network data fault



PINPOINT TEST E: DTC U2472

E1 CHECK THE DTCs FROM THE PAM ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST


- Ignition ON.
- Clear continuous DTCs from all modules.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait at least 10 seconds.
- Repeat the PAM on-demand self-test.
- Are any DTCs present?

Yes
If DTCs U2472 and U0140 are both present, GO to Pinpoint Test I. Pinpoint Test I: DTC U0140

For DTC U2472 only, GO to E2.

For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Charts. Parking Aid

No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

E2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION


- Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to Body Control Systems. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
