Axle Carrier Bushing













Removal

1. Remove the axle assembly. For additional information, refer to Axle Assembly Axle Assembly.

2. Place the Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner on the insulator and index-mark the housing in line with the arrow on the special tool.





3. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the insulator flange and the axle housing. Record the measurement.





4. Tap the Front Differential Housing Bushing Remover on between the axle housing and the insulator flange.





5. Assemble the Front Differential Housing Bushing, Front Differential Housing Bushing Remover and the Front Wheel Hub Remover/Installer. Remove and discard the insulator.





Installation

1. Set the new insulator in the housing bore and install the Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt, Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner, Front Axle Mounting Bushing Remover and Upper Arm Pivot Bushing Installer. Align the arrow marks on the Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner with the index mark on the axle housing.





2. Draw the insulator into the housing to the measured gap earlier in this procedure.
