Axle Assembly









Removal and Installation

1. Remove the front halfshafts. For additional information, refer to Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints.

2. Remove the front driveshaft. For additional information, refer to Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and Joints.

3. NOTE: Securely strap the jack to the axle.

Position a suitable hydraulic jack under the front axle.





4. Remove and discard the 3 axle insulator bolts.
- Tighten the 3 new bolts to 100 Nm (74 lb-ft).





5. NOTE: Lower the axle to gain access to the axle vent hose.

Disconnect the axle vent hose.





6. Lower the axle assembly from the vehicle.

7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
