Pinpoint Test O: The Heated Seat is Inoperative - Front Passenger
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 119, Climate Controlled Seats for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number
Normal Operation
The heated seat module is supplied battery voltage on circuit CBX01 (GN/RD), ignition voltage on circuit CBX06 (GY/RD), and ground on circuit GD903 (BK/WH). The HVAC module controls the heated seats by supplying a momentary ground to the heated seat module request circuits when a heated seat button is pressed. If equipped with the navigation, the Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) sends the request to the HVAC module. The heated seat module supplies voltage to the heater mats on circuit CHS07 (GY/BU). Ground is supplied on circuit GD904 (BK/BU). The cushion and backrest heater mats are connected in series by circuit CHS01 (GY/VT). The heated seat module monitors the temperature sensor located in the cushion heater mat on circuits VHS27 (WH/OG) and RHS05 (YE/VT). Seat temperature is maintained until switched off, the ignition is turned off or a fault is detected by the HVAC or heated seat module. The heated seat module does not report DTCs but will disable the affected heated seat if a fault is detected with the temperature sensor, heater mats or circuits.
The HVAC module reports the following DTCs for the passenger heated seat. These DTCs are for request circuit CHS30 (GY/YE).
- DTC B1032:11 (Right Front Seat Heater: Circuit Short To Ground) - If the passenger seat request circuit from the HVAC module to the heated seat module is shorted to ground, the DTC is set.
- DTC B1032:12 (Right Front Seat Heater: Circuit Short To Battery) - If the passenger seat request circuit from the HVAC module to the heated seat module is shorted to voltage, the DTC is set.
- DTC B1032:13 (Right Front Seat Heater: Circuit Open) - If the passenger seat request circuit from the HVAC module to the heated seat module is open, the DTC is set.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse(s)
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Backrest or cushion heater mat
- Heated seat module
- HVAC module
- FCIM (if equipped with navigation)
