PINPOINT TEST D: THE TOW/HAUL SWITCH DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
-------------------------------------------------
D1 TEST THE BJB FUSE 77 (10A)
- Check fuse: Battery Junction Box (BJB) 77 (10A).
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to D2.
No
GO to D5.
-------------------------------------------------
D2 CHECK CIRCUIT CBB77 (WH) FOR VOLTAGE
- Disconnect: Selector Lever C2135.
- Inspect C2135 for damaged or pushed-out terminals or loose wires. Repair as necessary.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between selector lever C2135-1, circuit CBB77 (WH), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes
GO to D3.
No
REPAIR circuit CBB77 (WH) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
D3 CHECK THE TOW/HAUL SWITCH
- Connect a fused jumper from selector lever C2135-2, to C2135-1, harness side.
- Does the word TOW HAUL appear on the IC?
Yes
REPLACE the Tow/Haul switch. REFER to Selector Lever - Column Shift Selector Lever - Column Shift. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
GO to D4.
-------------------------------------------------
D4 CHECK CIRCUIT CET34 (BN/GN) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: PCM C175T.
- Inspect C175T for damaged or pushed-out terminals, corrosion or loose wires. Repair as necessary.
- Measure the resistance between selector lever C2135-2, circuit CET34 (BN/GN) and PCM C175T-30, harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
GO to D5.
No
REPAIR circuit CET34 (BN/GN) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
-------------------------------------------------
D5 CHECK CIRCUIT CET34 (BN/GN) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between PCM C175T-30, circuit CET34 (BN/GN), harness side and ground.
- Is resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
REPLACE the PCM. REFER to Computers and Control Systems. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
REPAIR circuit CET34 (BN/GN) for a short to ground. TEST the system for normal operation.
