Tailgate Latch Remote Control

Removal and Installation

1. If equipped, remove the tailgate step assist handle. For additional information, refer to Truck Bed.

2. Remove the bolts and the tailgate access panel (7 bolts for flareside bed, 8 for without step tailgate, or 13 with step tailgate).
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

3. Open the 2 clips and release the 2 tailgate latch actuating rods from the tailgate remote control.

4. If equipped, release the tailgate latch actuating rod locator from the tailgate.

5. Remove the 2 tailgate release handle nuts and the tailgate remote control.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
