Removal and Installation

1. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

2. Disconnect the heater coolant hose retainer from the ACL outlet pipe-to-Throttle Body (TB) adapter.

3. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube quick connect fitting from ACL outlet pipe-to-TB adapter. For additional information, refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction.

4. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the ACL outlet pipe-to-TB adapter.

5. Remove the 2 bolts and the ACL outlet pipe-to-TB adapter.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

6. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the TB adapter from the TB.

7. Disconnect the ignition wire.

8. Disconnect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connector.





9. Remove the ignition coil-on-plug bolt.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

10. NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plug, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.

Remove the ignition coil-on-plug.

11. NOTE: Verify that the ignition coil spring is correctly located inside the ignition coil-on-plug boot and that there is no damage to the tip of the boot.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Apply a light coat of dielectric compound to the inside of the ignition coil boots.
