Pinpoint Test B: The Power Seat is Inoperative - Passenger

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 120, Power Seats for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

The seat control switch is supplied battery voltage through circuit SBB29 (GY/RD) and is grounded by circuit GD179 (BK/VT). The seat control switch then routes voltage and ground to the appropriate circuits to operate the seat motors.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Fuse
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Seat control switch

PINPOINT TEST B: THE POWER SEAT IS INOPERATIVE - PASSENGER

-------------------------------------------------
B1 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO SEAT CONTROL SWITCH

- Disconnect: Passenger Seat Control Switch C330.
- Measure the voltage between passenger seat control switch C330-4, circuit SBB29 (GY/RD), harness side and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to B2.

No
VERIFY Battery Junction Box (BJB) fuse 29 (30A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. TEST the system for normal operation. Diagrams By Number

-------------------------------------------------
B2 CHECK THE SEAT CONTROL SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

- Measure the resistance between passenger seat control switch C330-2, circuit GD179 (BK/VT), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new passenger seat control switch. REFER to Seat Control Switch Seat Control Switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
