Tailgate Latch Remote Control

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the 8 screws and the tailgate access cover.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

2. Open the tailgate latch actuating rod retainers and disconnect the tailgate latch actuating rods from the tailgate latch remote control.

3. Remove the 2 tailgate latch remote control nuts.
- To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

4. Remove the tailgate latch remote control.

5. NOTE: Prior to installation, remove the slack in the tailgate latch release links by pulling the tailgate latch release links to the center of the tailgate. Close the plastic clip over the thread of the tailgate latch release links.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
