Removal and Installation

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

2. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

3. NOTICE: Do not loosen the block heater retaining screw more than necessary for removal or damage to the block heater may occur.

Loosen the block heater retaining screw and remove the block heater.

- To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).

4. NOTE: Route the block heater power cable away from hot or rotating components or damage to the cable can occur.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
