Power Steering Pump to Hydraulic Booster Pressure Line
Removal and Installation
NOTICE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.
NOTE: The hydraulic booster jumper line and the pressure line can be serviced separately. It is not necessary to disconnect the jumper line from the hydraulic booster when servicing the pressure line.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to Intake Air Distribution and Filtering Intake Air System Components - Exploded View.
3. NOTE: Thoroughly clean all foreign material from the threads.
NOTE: The hydraulic booster jumper line and the pressure line can be serviced separately. It is not necessary to remove the jumper line from the hydraulic booster when servicing the pressure line.
Disconnect the pressure line-to-hydraulic booster jumper line fitting.
- To install, tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
4. Detach the pressure line from the pressure line clip.
5. Remove the pressure line clamp plate bolt and disconnect the pressure line from the pump.
- Discard the bolt.
- To install, tighten the new bolt to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
