Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Function Description and Operation.

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect for customer electronic devices, such as cell phone chargers or GPS (Global Positioning System) units.

- Inspect for Non-OEM wheels or run-flat tires.

- Verify that the horn operates.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Special Tool(s)

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE SENSOR IDENTIFIERS AND SYSTEM STATUS PIDs (Parameter Identifications)

1. Connect the scan tool.

2. Ignition ON.

3. Using a scan tool, view BCM (Body Control Module) PIDs (Parameter Identifications):

- Left Front Tire Transmitter Identifier (TPM_S_ID_LF)

- Right Front Tire Transmitter Identifier (TPM_S_ID_RF)

- Left Rear Tire Transmitter Identifier (TPM_S_ID_LRO)

- Right Rear Tire Transmitter Identifier (TPM_S_ID_RRO)

4. Monitor the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) PID (Parameter Identification) TPMS_STATUS.

Does the TPMS_STATUS PID (Parameter Identification) display SENSOR FAULT?

2. CARRY OUT THE SENSOR TRAINING PROCEDURE (SENSOR FAULT)

1. Train all 4 TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensors. REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Training - Intelligent Access (IA) Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Training - Intelligent Access (IA) or REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Training - Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Training - Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT).

Did all of the tire pressure sensors transmit correctly and did the horn sound when each TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensor transmitted to the BCM (Body Control Module)?
