Instrument Panel Finish Panel - Center, Lower

Removal and Installation

Vehicles with selector lever in floor console

1. Apply the parking brake.

2. Place the selector lever in the 1 position.

All vehicles with console

3. Position the front seats forward.

4. Remove the 2 floor console rear bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

5. Position the front seats rearward.

Consoles with flow thru vents

6. Remove the LH and RH floor console lower finish panels, in the following sequence.

1. Pull the rear section of the panels outward to release the retaining clips.

2. Pull the panels toward the rear of the vehicle.

Consoles without flow thru vents

7. Remove the LH and RH instrument panel lower finish panel pushpin retainers.





8. Remove the LH and RH instrument panel lower finish panels.
- Pull the panels outward to release the retaining clips.

All vehicles with console - except Mark LT, Platinum

9. Remove the 3 screws and storage compartment door.

Vehicles with selector lever in floor console

10. NOTICE: When prying on a component, a non-marring tool must be used or damage to the component may occur.

Remove the instrument panel-to-floor console finish panel.

- Using a non-marring tool, gently pry outward at the lower corners of the instrument panel-to-floor console finish panel to release the retaining clips.





11. Remove the floor console upper finish panel.
- Lift the floor console upper finish panel upward, at the locations indicated, to release the retaining clips.





12. Remove the selector lever trim panel.
- Lift the selector lever trim panel upward releasing the retaining clips from the floor console.

13. Remove the 2 floor console-to-instrument panel bolts.
- To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

14. Remove the 2 floor console front bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

Vehicles without selector lever in floor console

15. Remove the 2 floor console front bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

All vehicles with console

16. Position the floor console rearward.

All vehicles

17. NOTE: RH center instrument panel trim panel lower bolt is shown, LH center instrument panel trim panel lower bolt is similar.

Remove the LH and RH center instrument panel trim panel lower bolts.





18. Remove the 2 instrument cluster finish panel screws.

19. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

20. Remove the LH center instrument panel trim panel.
- Pull the LH center instrument panel trim panel toward the rear of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.

- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector.

21. Remove the passenger air bag module. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System Passenger Air Bag Module.

22. Remove the RH center instrument panel trim panel upper bolt.





23. Remove the RH center instrument panel trim panel.
- Pull the RH center instrument panel trim panel toward the rear of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.

- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector.

24. Remove the center instrument panel upper finish panel mat.





25. Remove the 2 center instrument panel lower finish panel upper screws.





26. Remove the audio input jack trim cover.
- Using a non-marring tool, pry outward on the lower left corner of the audio input jack cover.

- Disconnect the electrical connector(s).

27. Remove the instrument panel lower center finish panel center screw.





28. Remove the instrument panel lower center finish panel.
- Pull the instrument panel lower finish panel toward the rear of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.

- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

29. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Make sure to align the finish panel retaining clips to the adjacent retaining clip holes.
