Seat Backrest - Front, Center

Removal and Installation

NOTE: For parts identification and location, refer to Seat - Exploded View, Front, Center Seat - Exploded View, Front, Center.

1. Remove the seat. For additional information, refer to Seat - Front, Center Seat - Front, Center.

2. Remove the rear cupholder.
- Remove the 2 rear cupholder screws.

- If equipped, disconnect the power point electrical connector.

3. Remove the LH side shield.
- Remove the 2 LH side shield screws.

- Release the pin-type retainer.

4. Remove the backrest latch cover.

5. Remove the 2 backrest pivot bolts.
- To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

6. Remove the safety belt anchor bolt.
- To install, tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

7. Remove the 2 backrest latch upper bolts and backrest.
- To install, tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).

8. NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
