Transmission Control Module (TCM) - TorqShift(R)6
Removal
NOTE: The Transmission Control Module (TCM) is located on the left frame rail under the cab.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.
2. NOTICE: Keep the Transmission Control Module (TCM) electrical connector straight when disconnecting it or damage the the connector terminals can occur.
Slide the lock tab out to unlock the Transmission Control Module (TCM) electrical connector and disconnect the TCM electrical connector.
3. Remove and discard the 2 nuts and remove the TCM.
Installation
1. Position the TCM in place and install 2 new nuts.
- Tighten to 19 Nm (168 lb-in).
2. NOTICE: Keep the Transmission Control Module (TCM) electrical connector straight when connecting it or damage the the connector terminals can occur.
Connect the TCM electrical connector and slide the lock tab in to lock the connector.
3. Restore the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration restore steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to Module Configuration Programmable Module Installation (PMI).
4. Using the scan tool, download the solenoid body strategy. For additional information, refer to Solenoid Body Strategy Solenoid Body Strategy - TorqShift(R)6.
