Interior - Console Door Won't Lock With Key

FLOOR CONSOLE STORAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR
DOES NOT LOCK AFTER ACTUATION OF THE KEY
TO LOCK IT - BUILT ON OR BEFORE 11/28/2011

ISSUE
Some 2011-2012 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or
before 11/28/2011 may exhibit a condition where
the floor console storage compartment door does
not lock following actuation of the key to lock it.
This may be caused by the latch lock mechanism
not fully engaging in the locked position.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the floor console storage compartment door, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-12.
2. Remove the floor console storage compartment door lower cover and replace the latch lever and clip assembly. (Figure 1)
3. Install floor console storage compartment door and lower cover on floor console, refer to WSM, Section 501-12.
