Removal and Installation

1. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding.

2. Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.

3. Remove the block heater.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

- To install, tighten to 41 Nm (30 lb-in).

4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new O-ring seal and lubricate it with clean engine coolant.

5. NOTICE: The cooling system condition must be evaluated before filling the cooling system. Failure to follow these instructions can damage the engine or cooling system.
