Throttle Body Spacer: Service and Repair
Throttle Body - Spacer
Removal
1. Remove the Throttle Body (TB). For additional information, refer to Throttle Body Service and Repair.
2. Disconnect the PCV tube quick connect coupling from the TB spacer. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information - Gasoline and Diesel Quick Connect Coupling.
3. Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve vacuum tube quick connect coupling from the TB spacer. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information - Gasoline and Diesel Quick Connect Coupling.
4. Remove the 2 screws and the PCV heated element.
5. Remove the 2 upper TB spacer bolts.
6. Remove the 4 lower TB spacer bolts, the TB and discard the TB spacer gasket.
Installation
1. Install a new TB spacer gasket and the TB spacer and tighten the 4 lower bolts in 2 stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
2. Install the 2 upper TB spacer bolts in 2 stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 90 degrees.
3. Install the PCV heated element and the 2 screws.
4. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve quick connect coupling to the TB spacer. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information - Gasoline and Diesel Quick Connect Coupling.
5. Connect the PCV tube quick connect coupling to the TB spacer. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information - Gasoline and Diesel Quick Connect Coupling.
6. Install the TB. For additional information, refer to Throttle Body Service and Repair.
