NOTE: The parking brake switch is not serviced separately . If a new parking brake switch is needed, a new parking brake control must be installed.









Parking Brake Cables

NOTICE: Use care when releasing the RH rear parking brake cable from the plastic brackets or damage to the brackets may occur.









Heat Shields, Exhaust System and Crossmember









Removal and Installation

1. Refer to the procedures and/or exploded views for any Warnings, Notices, Notes, Materials, Specifications and Special tools. Items in the exploded views may not be listed in order of removal.

2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

3. Remove the driver seat and the floor console to access the parking brake control.
- For the driver seat, refer to Seating Seat.

- For the floor console, refer to Instrument Panel and Console Service and Repair.

4. Loosen the front parking brake cable adjuster nut 5 turns to release the tension for parking brake service. Remove the floor console finish panel to access the nut. 5. Remove the crossmember and lower the exhaust and the exhaust heat shields in order to access the parking brake equalizer.

6. Adjust the parking brake cables after parking brake component service. For additional information, refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjustment Adjustments.
