PINPOINT TEST A: GEARSHIFT CABLES DO NOT OPERATE FREELY

A1 CHECK GEARSHIFT LEVER

- Disconnect the gearshift cables from the gearshift lever.
- Is the gearshift lever difficult to operate?

Yes
INSTALL a new gearshift lever. REFER to Gearshift Lever Service and Repair.

No
GO to A2.

A2 CHECK THE GEARSHIFT CABLES.

- Attach the gearshift cables to the gearshift lever.
- Disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle.
- Is the gearshift lever difficult to operate?

Yes
INSTALL a new gearshift cable assembly. REFER to Gearshift Cables Service and Repair.

No
There is a problem with the transaxle. REFER to Manual Transaxle/Transmission Testing and Inspection.
