Pinpoint Test H: DTC U3000:44 Or DTC U3000:49

Normal Operation

On each ignition cycle, the Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right (SOD-R) and Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left (SOD-L) run a self diagnostic check during which the exterior mirror BLIS(TM)/CTA LEDs illuminate for 3 seconds then turn off indicating the system is operational and no faults are present. If a DTC fault is present, a system fault message is observed in the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) message center.

- DTC U3000:44 (Control Module: Data Failure) - sets when the SOD-R or SOD-L detect an internal memory failure.
- DTC U3000:49 (Control Module: Internal Electronic Failure) - sets when the SOD-R or SOD-L detect an internal electronic failure.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- SOD-R
- SOD-L

H1 CHECK THE SOD-R and SOD-L FOR DTCs


- Ignition ON.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: SOD-R and SOD-L Module Self-Test.
- Clear the DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait 5 seconds
- Ignition ON.
- Repeat the SOD-R and SOD-L module self-test.
- Is DTC U3000:44 or DTC U3000:49 still present?

Yes
INSTALL a new SOD-R or SOD-L. REFER to Side Obstacle Detection (SOD) Module Service and Repair. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by an intermittent problem. TEST the system for normal operation.
