Safety Belt Retractor - Second Row, Center









1. Remove the outer safety belt trim guide.





2. Release the seat cushion J-clips.
- Fold the seat backrest down.

- Tip the seat cushion up.

- Release the seat cushion J-clips.

- Release the J-clip at the inboard side of the seat cushion frame.

3. Remove the bolt and separate the safety belt retractor anchor and buckle from the inboard backrest recliner.
- To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

4. Release the 2 backrest trim cover lower J-clips.

5. Release the 4 backrest trim cover inside J-clips-to-hard back panel.

6. NOTICE: Use care when separating the backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the foam pad.

Release the hook-and-loop strips, invert the backrest trim cover and remove the 2 rows of hog rings.

7. Remove the 5 screws and backrest hard back panel.

8. Feed the safety belt through and remove the backrest trim cover and foam pad.

9. Remove the 3 bolts and safety belt retractor assembly.
- When installing the safety belt retractor assembly, position the safety belt retractor key through the backrest frame key way.
- To install, tighten the lower retractor M10 bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

- When installing the inner safety belt guide, position it into the backrest frame slot.
- To install, tighten the 2 webbing guide M8 bolts to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).





10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

11. Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to the appropriate Functional Test procedure in Safety Belt System Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
