Entertainment System - DVD Player Won't Turn Off

ISSUE
Some 2011 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles built on or before 1/26/2011 may experience the head restraint digital versatile disc (DVD) Player not turning off with the power button. The head restraint DVD player may appear to power down normally with the screen go blank momentarily, but then power back on.

ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Place vehicle ignition system in accessory or run position.

2. Turn on the head restraint DVD player using the power button and allow the system to boot up to the main menu screen.

3. Press the head restraint DVD player power button to turn the unit off. If screen momentarily goes blank, then turns back on, replace the faulty head restraint DVD player and reference Workshop Manual, Section 415-00: Information and Entertainment Systems for removal and installation instructions.
