Seat Backrest - Rear

Convertible Backrest

















Removal and Installation

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. For additional information, refer to Seat Cushion - Rear Seat Cushion - Rear.

2. For hard top vehicles, remove the bolt, pull the strap to pivot the backrest down, slide the backrest out of the backrest pivot bracket and remove the affected backrest.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

3. For convertible top vehicles, remove the seat backrest in the following sequence.

1. From behind the rear seat backrest, detach the backrest cover J-clip from the convertible top housing cover J-clip.

2. Remove the 2 backrest bolts at the bottom.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).

3. Slide the backrest up disengaging the backrest hooks from the sheet metal.

4. Remove the seat backrest.

4. NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
