Removal
WARNING: Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, Safety Canopy(R) or side air curtain modules. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
WARNING: Never disassemble or tamper with safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors or probe the electrical connectors. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of the safety belt pretensioners or adaptive load limiting retractors which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.
NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.
1. Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of Supplemental Restraint System Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering.
2. Position the seat and remove the 4 seat-to-floor bolts.
3. NOTE: The SuperCab and regular cab safety belts route differently. Note belt position for correct installation.
For 60 percent seat, remove the front center safety belt bolt.
- For SuperCab, release the cover for bolt access.
- Route the front center safety belt buckle through the locating strap on the side of the seat.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the seat.
Installation
NOTE: The seat track-to-floor bolts must be tightened in the sequence described in this procedure.
NOTE: Before installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.
1. Position the seat in the vehicle and connect the electrical connector.
2. For 60 percent seat, install the front center safety belt bolt.
- Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- For SuperCab, install the front center safety belt bolt cover.
- Route the front center safety belt buckle through the locating strap on the side of the seat as noted in removal.
3. Position the seat and install the 4 seat-to-floor bolts and tighten in the following sequence:
1. Tighten the front inboard seat-to-floor bolt to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
2. Tighten the front outboard seat-to-floor bolt to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
3. Tighten the rear inboard seat-to-floor bolt to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
4. Tighten the rear outboard seat-to-floor bolt to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
