Pinpoint Test S: An Individual Reversing Lamp Is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 93, Reversing Lamps for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

When the transmission is placed in REVERSE (R), voltage is routed to the reversing lamps.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

PINPOINT TEST S: AN INDIVIDUAL REVERSING LAMP IS INOPERATIVE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

NOTE: Failure to disconnect the battery when instructed will result in false resistance readings. Refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables Battery Disconnect.

S1 CHECK CIRCUIT GD121 (BK/YE) FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Negative Battery Cable.
- Disconnect: Inoperative Reversing Lamp.
- Measure the resistance between the LH reversing lamp C451-1, circuit GD121 (BK/YE), harness side and ground; or between the RH reversing lamp C461-1, circuit GD121 (BK/YE), harness side and ground.




- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
REPAIR circuit GD121 (BK/YE) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR circuit CET41 (BN/YE) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
