Disassembly

1. Remove and discard the front bearing oil scoop ring.





2. NOTICE: To avoid damage to the input shaft, hold the input shaft from underneath so it does not fall.

Position the input shaft on a press. Using the Bearing Remover, remove and discard the input shaft bearing.

- Always install new bearings and cups as a set.





3. Inspect the input shaft for damage or wear.
- Inspect the surface of the input shaft in the area of the bearing race, the surface must be smooth and free of burrs.

- Inspect the splines for nicks. Install a new input shaft as necessary.

Assembly

1. Using the Bearing Remover, Shaft Bearing Cone Installer and a press, install a new input bearing shaft.





2. NOTE: When installing the front bearing oil scoop ring, a click should be felt as the scoop ring notches align with the input shaft oil holes.

Install the front bearing oil scoop ring.
