Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 93, Reversing Lamps for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

When the transmission is placed in REVERSE (R), the digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor, or the reversing lamp switch, routes the voltage to the reversing lamps.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Reversing lamp switch (manual transmission)
- Digital TR sensor (automatic transmission)

PINPOINT TEST T: THE REVERSING LAMPS ARE ON CONTINUOUSLY

-------------------------------------------------
T1 CHECK THE REVERSING LAMPS VOLTAGE SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Digital TR Sensor C167.
- Disconnect: Reversing Lamp Switch C169.
- Ignition ON.
- Do the reversing lamps continue to illuminate?

Yes
REPAIR circuit CET41 (BN/YE) for a short to voltage. TEST the system for normal operation.
