Axle Carrier Bushing





Removal

1. Remove the axle assembly. For additional information, refer to Axle Assembly Axle Assembly.

2. Place the Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner on the insulator and index-mark the housing in line with the arrow on the Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner.





3. Using a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the insulator flange and the axle housing. Record the measurement.





4. Tap the Front Differential Housing Bushing Remover on between the axle housing and the insulator flange.





5. Assemble the Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner, Front Differential Housing Bushing Remover and Front Wheel Hub Remover/Installer. Remove and discard the insulator.





Installation

1. NOTE: Align the arrow marks on the Front Differential Housing Bushing Aligner with the index mark on the axle housing.

Set the new insulator in the housing bore and install the Front Axle Mounting Bushing Remover, Upper Arm Pivot Bushing Installer, Front Differential Housing Bushing Installer and Front Axle Mounting Bushing Drawbolt Installer.





2. Draw the insulator into the housing to the measured gap earlier in this procedure.
