Pinpoint Test S: An Individual Front Fog Lamp Is Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 86, Fog Lamps for schematic and connector information. Diagrams By Number

Normal Operation

Voltage is provided to the front fog lamps when the front fog lamp relay is energized.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Wiring, terminals or connectors


PINPOINT TEST S: AN INDIVIDUAL FRONT FOG LAMP IS INOPERATIVE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

S1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE INOPERATIVE LAMP


- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Inoperative Rear Fog Lamp.
- Ignition ON.
- Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position and pull the knob to the first detent.
- Measure the voltage between the LH front fog lamp C152-1, circuit 15S-LD11 (GN/WH), harness side and ground; or between the RH front fog lamp C162-1, circuit 15S-LD17 (GN/WH), harness side and ground.




- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
REPAIR circuit 31-LD11 (BK) (LH front fog lamp) or circuit 31-LD17 (BK) (RH front fog lamp) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR circuit 15S-LD11 (GN/WH) (LH front fog lamp) or circuit 15S-LD17 (GN/WH) (RH front fog lamp) for an open. TEST the system for normal operation.
