Oil Pump: Service and Repair




Oil Pump





Removal

1. Release the fuel system pressure.

2. Remove the timing drive components. For additional information, refer to Timing Drive Components Removal and Replacement.

3. Remove the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Oil Pan Service and Repair.

4. Remove the 3 bolts and the oil pump.





Installation

1. NOTICE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These may cause scratches and gouges resulting in leak paths. Use a plastic scraper to clean the sealing surfaces.

Clean the sealing surfaces with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Inspect the mating surfaces.


2. Install the oil pump and tighten the 3 bolts in the sequence shown.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).






3. Install the oil pan. For additional information, refer to Oil Pan Service and Repair.

4. Install the timing drive components. For additional information, refer to Timing Drive Components Removal and Replacement.
