Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) Solenoid

Removal

1. Remove the manual control lever. For additional information, refer to Manual Control Lever Shaft and Seal Automatic Transaxle/Transmission - 4R70E/4R75E.

2. NOTICE: Carefully pry up on the locking tabs to disconnect the solenoids. Disconnect the transmission internal harness from the solenoids.

Disconnect the transmission internal harness from the solenoids.
1. Disconnect Shift Solenoid A (SSA) and Shift Solenoid B (SSB).

2. Disconnect the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid.

3. Disconnect the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) solenoid.

4. Disconnect the transmission internal harness connector.

5. Disconnect the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor.






3. Remove the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid.
1. Remove the bolt.

2. Remove the solenoid bracket and the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid.






Installation

1. NOTE: Lubricate the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid O-rings with transmission fluid.

Install the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid.

1. Install the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid by pressing it in place by hand.

2. Install the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid bracket and bolt.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).







2. Connect the transmission internal harness to the solenoids.
1. Connect the transmission internal harness connector by pressing it in place by hand and fully seating the connector in place.

2. Connect the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoid by fully seating the connector in place.

3. Connect the TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) solenoid by fully seating the connector in place.

4. Connect the SSA (Shift Solenoid A) and SSB (Shift Solenoid B) by fully seating the connector in place.

5. Connect the TFT (Transmission Fluid Temperature) sensor.






3. NOTICE: The transmission internal wire harness needs to be properly routed to avoid the potential of damage to the harness. A pinched or trapped internal wire harness may result in a transmission failure.

Make sure that the internal wire harness is properly routed.






4. Install the manual control lever. For additional information, refer to Manual Control Lever Shaft and Seal Automatic Transaxle/Transmission - 4R70E/4R75E.
