Pinpoint Test L: DTC U3002:62
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 42, Vehicle Dynamic Systems for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation
When the ignition is turned to the RUN position, the ABS module and the PCM share Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) information over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN). Correct any network communication DTCs prior to diagnosing DTC U3002:62
- DTC U3002:62 (Vehicle Identification Number: Signal Compare Failure)- this DTC sets when the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) message sent by the PCM over the HS-CAN (High Speed Controller Area Network) does not match the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) stored in the ABS module.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Module configuration (ABS and PCM)
- ABS module
PINPOINT TEST L : DTC U3002:62
L1 VERIFY PCM VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a scan tool, view the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) stored in the PCM.
- Compare the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) stored in the PCM to the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the vehicle plate.
Does the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) in the PCM match the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the vehicle plate?
Yes
GO to L2.
No
RECONFIGURE the PCM. FOLLOW the instructions on the scan tool. CLEAR the DTCs. CYCLE the ignition key. REPEAT the self-test.
L2 VERIFY ABS MODULE PART NUMBER
- Using a scan tool, retrieve and record the ABS module part number.
- Compare the part number recorded against the number listed in the parts catalog.
Is the correct ABS module installed in the vehicle?
Yes
CONFIGURE the ABS module. REFER to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) Programmable Module Installation (PMI), Using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) When the Original Module is NOT Available in Information Bus. CLEAR the DTC. CYCLE the ignition key. REPEAT the self-test.
No
INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . CLEAR the DTC. CYCLE the ignition key. REPEAT the self-test.
If vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit). REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) .
