Removal
NOTICE: Suspension fasteners affect performance of vital components and systems and their failure may result in major service expense. If replacement is necessary install new parts with the same part numbers or equivalent part. Do not use a replacement part of lesser quality or substitute design. Tighten the fasteners to specification during reassembly.
NOTICE: Tighten the suspension bushing fasteners with the weight of the vehicle resting on the wheels and tires or incorrect clamp load and bushing damage may occur.
1. Remove the wheel and tire.
2. Remove and discard stabilizer bar link upper nut and disconnect the stabilizer bar link and parking brake cable bracket from the trailing arm assembly.
- To install, tighten the new nuts to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
3. Remove and discard the 4 wheel knuckle-to-trailing arm bolts and nuts.
- To install, tighten the new bolts and nuts to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
4. Remove and discard the 5 trailing arm bracket-to-frame bolts and remove the trailing arm assembly.
- To install, tighten the new bolts to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
5. Remove and discard the trailing arm bracket-to-trailing arm bolt and nut and separate the trailing arm from the trailing arm bracket.
- To install, tighten the new bolt and nut to 150 Nm (111 lb-ft).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
