Anti-Lock Control

Pinpoint Test G: DTC U0104:00

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 42, Vehicle Dynamic Systems for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation

- DTC U0104:00 (Lost Communication With Cruise Control Module: No Sub Type Information)- this DTC sets in the ABS module if the duty cycle message that should be received from the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) is missing for 5 seconds or longer.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- C-CM (Cruise-Control Module)

- ABS module

PINPOINT TEST G : DTC U0104:00

G1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

- Ignition ON.

- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?

Yes
GO to G2.

No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

G2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

- Ignition ON.

- Using a scan tool, carry out the network test.

Does the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) pass the network test?

Yes
GO to G3.

No
REFER to Information Bus.

G3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE AND C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) SELF-TESTS

- Check for recorded ABS and C-CM (Cruise-Control Module) DTCs from the network test.

Is DTC U3003:16 (or B1318) or DTC U3003:17 (or B1317) recorded?

Yes
For the ABS module, REFER to DTC Charts Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control.

For the C-CM (Cruise-Control Module), REFER to Fire Suppression System.

No
GO to G4.

G4 CHECK FOR DTCs U0104:00 OR U0104 SET IN OTHER MODULES

- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.

- Ignition OFF.

- Ignition ON.

- Wait 10 seconds.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self-Test- All CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

Is DTC U0104:00 or DTC U0104 set in more than one module?

Yes
INSTALL a new C-CM (Cruise-Control Module). TEST the system for normal operation. REPEAT the ABS module self-test.

No
For vehicles without adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . TEST the system for normal operation.

For vehicles with adaptive cruise control, INSTALL a new HCU (Hydraulic Control Unit). REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) .
