Pinpoint Test A: All Power Windows are Inoperative

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100, Power Windows for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation

The Smart Junction Box (SJB) activates the accessory delay relay by grounding the coil side of the relay. The accessory delay relay then provides voltage to SJB (Smart Junction Box) circuit breaker 47 (30A), which in turn provides voltage to circuit CBP47 (GN/BU) for the window control switches. The LH front window control switch is grounded through circuit GD149 (BK/GY).

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Circuit breaker

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- Accessory delay relay

- LH front window control switch

- SJB (Smart Junction Box)

PINPOINT TEST A : ALL POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE

NOTE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) from the Flex Probe Kit when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

A1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH - CIRCUIT CBP47 (GN/BU)

- Ignition OFF.

- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504A and C504B.

- Ignition ON.

- Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C504A-2, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and ground.





Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to A2.

No
VERIFY SJB (Smart Junction Box) circuit breaker 47 (30A) is OK. If OK, GO to A3.

If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short Electrical Diagrams.

A2 CHECK GROUND TO THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH - CIRCUIT GD149 (BK/GY)

- Ignition OFF.

- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504B-7, circuit GD149 (BK/GY), harness side and ground.





Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch . TEST the system for normal operation.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

A3 CHECK CIRCUIT CBP47 (GN/BU) FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.

- Disconnect: SJB (Smart Junction Box) C2280D.

- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504A-2, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side and SJB (Smart Junction Box) C2280D-32, circuit CBP47 (GN/BU), harness side.





Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test H Pinpoint Test H: The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative.

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
