Pinpoint Test A: The Alarm System Does Not Arm/Disarm - Using The Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) Key
Normal Operation
The Smart Junction Box (SJB) receives lock/unlock commands from the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter (part of the Integrated Keyhead Transmitter (IKT) key). The SJB (Smart Junction Box) then arms/disarms the perimeter alarm system.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) key concern
- SJB (Smart Junction Box)
PINPOINT TEST A : THE ALARM SYSTEM DOES NOT ARM/DISARM - USING THE IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) KEY
NOTE: All IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) keys must be present before diagnosing the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) system.
A1 CHECK THE LOCK FUNCTION USING THE IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) KEY
- Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) key.
Do the doors lock and unlock using the IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) key?
Yes
GO to A2.
No
REFER to Doors, Hood and Trunk &/or Locks.
A2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB (Smart Junction Box) OPERATION
- Disconnect all the SJB (Smart Junction Box) connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the SJB (Smart Junction Box) connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new SJB (Smart Junction Box). CYCLE each key to the ON position for a minimum of 6 seconds to PROGRAM the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) function of the IKT (Integrated Keyhead Transmitter) keys. TEST the system for normal operation.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. TEST the system for normal operation.
