Removal

1. Remove the steering wheel. REFER to Steering Wheel .

2. Remove the steering column shrouds. REFER to Steering Column Shroud .

3. Remove the 4 steering column cover screws and the steering column cover.

4. Disconnect the electrical connectors, detach the wiring harness retainers and position the wiring harness aside.

5. Remove and discard the steering column shaft-to-steering column bolt and disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering column.

6. Remove the 4 steering column bolts and the steering column.

Installation

1. Position the steering column and install the 4 steering column bolts.
- Tighten to 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).

2. WARNING: Do not reuse steering column shaft bolts. This may result in fastener failure and steering column shaft detachment or loss of steering control. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s).

Connect the steering column shaft and install a new steering column shaft-to-steering column bolt.
- Tighten to 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).

3. NOTICE: Make sure the electrical wiring harness is routed correctly and secured to the steering column or damage to the wires and/or connectors may occur.

Position the wiring harness, attach the wiring harness retainers and connect the electrical connectors.

4. Position the steering column cover and install the 4 steering column cover screws.

5. Install the steering column shrouds. REFER to Steering Column Shroud .

6. Install the steering wheel. REFER to Steering Wheel .
