Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair




Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) Sensor - 2.0L GTDI

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Material(s)






Removal

1. Remove the upper CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube and intermediate CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube. REFER to Charge Air Cooler .

2. Disconnect the FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure) sensor electrical connector.





3. Remove the FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure) sensor.





Installation

1. Install the FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure) sensor and tighten in the following 5 stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 5 degrees.
- Stage 3: Loosen 90 degrees.
- Stage 4: Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
- Stage 5: Tighten an additional 21 degrees.





2. Connect the FRP (Fuel Rail Pressure) sensor electrical connector.





3. Install the upper CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube and intermediate CAC (Charge Air Cooler) inlet tube. REFER to Charge Air Cooler .
