Diagnostic Routine G
Diagnostic Overview
The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 100 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The accessory delay relay is controlled by the BCM (Body Control Module). REFER to Delayed Accessory Power for normal system operation.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Visually inspect the accessory delay relay.
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE DOOR AJAR SWITCH OPERATION
1. Open and close the front doors. Verify the interior lights turn on when the doors are open, and off when the doors are closed.
Do the interior lights operate normally?
2. CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
1. Disconnect: Accessory Delay Relay.
2. Carry out the accessory delay relay component test.
Did the delayed accessory relay pass the component test?
3. CHECK THE ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D.
3. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Front Window Control Switch C535B.
4. Measure:
5. Measure:
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the window control switch and ground; and less than 3 ohms between the window control switch and BCM (Body Control Module)?
4. CHECK THE CIRCUIT BREAKER
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Connect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D.
3. Connect: LH (Left Hand) Front Window Control Switch C535B.
4. Install a new BCM (Body Control Module) circuit breaker 48 (30A).
5. Operate each of the power windows.
Do the power windows operate?
5. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins as necessary
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
