- Premium
- 2 front door speakers, 2 A-pillar speakers, 2 rear speakers
- Sony(R) sound
- 2 front door speakers, 2 rear speakers, 1 instrument panel speaker, 2 A-pillar speakers, subwoofer
All audio systems except base (XL trim only) include the following features:
- Accessory delay
- Speed sensitive volume
- Audio input jack
The following options are also available:
- Satellite radio
- Steering wheel controls
- SYNC(R) system
Satellite Radio
The satellite system consists of the following:
- Satellite radio receiver built into the ACM (Audio Front Control Module)
- Satellite radio antenna
- Satellite radio antenna cables
Navigation System
The navigation system consists of the following:
- Navigation ACM (Audio Front Control Module) with HD Radio(R)
- GPS (Global Positioning System) antenna
- Satellite radio/GPS (Global Positioning System) splitter cable
- Microphone
The ACM (Audio Front Control Module) controls the operation of the navigation system and the audio system. The system uses a GPS (Global Positioning System) antenna, a vehicle speed input, and other sensor information to accurately establish the vehicle position.
For vehicles with the SYNC(R) system and without navigation, turn-by-turn navigation is available as a subscription service.
HD Radio(R)
HD Radio(R) is a free public digital radio broadcast. Radio stations transmit digital AM and FM audio and data (such as station call letters, artist, and title). HD Radio(R) channels duplicate analog channels; in addition, some HD Radio(R) channels subdivide (multicast) the digital signal into multiple channels that do not have analog equivalents.
SYNC(R) System
The SYNC(R) system consists of the following:
- APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module)
- SYNC(R)-specific steering wheel controls
- Microphone
- USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable and port
- Audio input jack
SYNC(R) is a hands-free communications and entertainment system that allows the following interactions:
- Send and receive phone calls via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Send and receive text messages via a Bluetooth-enabled phone
- Connect media devices (such as an iPod(R) or USB (Universal Serial Bus) flash device) in order to play audio files
- Play media files via a Bluetooth-enabled audio device
- Produce vehicle health reports
- Initiate an emergency call (eCall) when the air bags deploy
- Provide turn-by-turn traffic directions through the use of the signal received by the GPSM (Global Positioning System Module)
The GPSM (Global Positioning System Module) works with the SYNC(R) system to provide vehicle location on vehicles not equipped with navigation, as the vehicle location must be known for the traffic, directions, and information features to operate correctly.
While SYNC(R) supports many features, not all features are available with every phone. For example, text messaging is supported by SYNC(R) but not available with most phones.
For additional information on audio system operation, including the SYNC(R) system, refer to the Owner's Literature.
MyKey(R)
When a MyKey(R) restricted key is in use and the speed limiter is turned on, the speed compensated volume is disabled. When the speed limiter is turned off or an administrator key is used, the speed compensated volume is enabled.
