Pinpoint Test C: DTC U0155:87

Normal Operation

- DTC U0155:87 (Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Control Module: Missing Message)- the Parking Aid Module (PAM) set this DTC if data messages received from the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) are missing for 5 seconds.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Module communication

- IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)

- PAM (Parking Aid Module)

PINPOINT TEST C : DTC U0155:87

C1 VERIFY CUSTOMER CONCERN

- Ignition ON.

- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?

Yes
GO to C2.
No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

C2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

- Ignition ON.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Network Test.

- Carry out the network test.

Does the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) pass the network test?

Yes
GO to C3.
No
REFER to Information Bus, The IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool. Pinpoint Test C: The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool

C3 CHECK THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) FOR DTCs

- Check for recorded IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) DTCs from the self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes
REFER to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
No
GO to C4.

C4 RECHECK THE PAM (Parking Aid Module) DTCs

- Clear the DTCs.

- Wait 10 seconds.

- Repeat the PAM (Parking Aid Module) self-test.

Is DTC U0155:87 still present?

Yes
GO to C5.
No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or intermittent fault condition.

C5 CHECK FOR DTC U0155 OR U0155:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES

- Ignition ON.

- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.

Is DTC U0155 or U0155:00 set in the ACM (Audio Front Control Module) or the ABS module?

Yes
INSTALL a new IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No
INSTALL a new PAM (Parking Aid Module). REFER to Parking Aid Module (PAM) . TEST the system for normal operation.
