Exterior Moulding / Trim: Description and Operation

Exterior Trim

The exterior trim and ornamentation consists of the:

- window mouldings.

- running boards.

- Power Running Boards (PRBs) (if equipped).

- PRB (Power Running Board) step.

- PRB (Power Running Board) motor (includes linkage).

- PRB (Power Running Board) step end caps.

- PRB (Power Running Board) module.

The PRB (Power Running Board) step end caps can be serviced separately.

If equipped, the PRBs (Power Running Boards) automatically move when the doors are opened to assist entering and exiting the vehicle.

The PRB (Power Running Board) feature may be enabled/disabled through the message center. For information on how to access the PRB (Power Running Board) feature within the message center, refer to the Owner's Literature.

When the PRB (Power Running Board) is disabled (OFF), the PRBs (Power Running Boards) will immediately move to the stowed position regardless of the position of the doors.

When the PRB (Power Running Board) is enabled (AUTO), the PRBs (Power Running Boards) will extend when the doors are opened and return to the stowed position when the doors are closed or vehicle speed is greater than 8 km/h (5 mph).

When the PRBs (Power Running Boards) are manually set to the deployed position (OUT), they will return to the stowed position and AUTO mode when the vehicle speed is greater than 8 km/h (5 mph).
