Seat - Front, Center









Removal

WARNING: Do not handle, move or change the original horizontal mounting position of the restraints control module (RCM) while the RCM is connected and the ignition switch is ON. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of the Safety Canopy(R) and cause serious personal injury or death.

NOTICE: The pedestal used for the front center seat and floor console mounting contains press fit washers and spacers designed to prevent corrosion at the front center seat and floor console mounting areas. Do not remove these parts from the pedestal during service and make sure they are correctly positioned before installation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in severe corrosion damage to mounting areas and fasteners.

All seats

1. If equipped, disconnect the power point electrical connector.
- For access, raise the cushion and remove the storage tray.
- Release the retainers at the rear edge and pull rearward to unhook and remove.



2. Position the outboard front seats as needed to access and remove the 4 seat mounting bolts.

3. Remove the seat.

4. Remove the front seats. For additional information, refer to Seat- Front .

5. Remove the 2 front and 2 rear pedestal bolts and pedestal.
- Install any washers or spacers that separate from the pedestal.


Installation

NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted and the safety belts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

1. NOTICE: Use care when removing and installing the pedestal to avoid damage to the Restraints Control Module (RCM) and Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) electrical wiring.
If removed, install the pedestal and the 2 front and 2 rear pedestal bolts.
- Make sure the 2 spacers are positioned between the floor and pedestal at the rear bolt holes.

- Make sure the 4 washers are positioned between the floor and pedestal at the bolt holes.

- To install, tighten front pedestal bolts to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

- To install, tighten rear pedestal bolts to 55 Nm (40 lb-ft).


2. Position the seat in the vehicle and install the 4 seat mounting bolts.
- To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).


3. If equipped, connect the power point electrical connector and install the storage tray.

4. If removed, install the front seats. For additional information, refer to Seat- Front .
