Anti-Lock Control - Four-Channel

Pinpoint Test Y: DTC U0101:00

Normal Operation

- DTC U0101:00 (Lost Communication With TCM: No Sub Type Information)- a continuous memory DTC set by the ABS module if the transmission range data should be received from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is missing for 5 seconds or longer.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Communication network concern

- TCM (Transmission Control Module)

- ABS module

PINPOINT TEST Y : DTC U0101:00

Y1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

- Ignition ON.

- Verify there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?

Yes
GO to Y2.

No
The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

Y2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

- Connect the scan tool.

- Using a scan tool, carry out the Network Test.

Does the TCM (Transmission Control Module) pass the Network Test?

Yes
GO to Y3.

No
REFER to Information Bus.

Y3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE AND TCM (Transmission Control Module) SELF-TESTS

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test- ABS Module.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test- TCM (Transmission Control Module).

Is DTC P1397:00 (or B11E8:16) or (or B11E8:17) recorded?

Yes
For ABS module DTC B11E8:16, GO to Pinpoint Test P. Pinpoint Test P: DTC B11E8:16

For ABS module DTC B11E8:17, GO to Pinpoint Test Q. Pinpoint Test Q: DTC B11E8:17

For TCM (Transmission Control Module) DTCs, REFER to Automatic Transmission/Transaxle &/or Transmission Control Systems.

No
GO to Y4.

Y4 CHECK FOR DTCs U0101:00 OR U0101 SET IN OTHER MODULES

- Using a scan tool, clear all CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

- Ignition OFF.

- Ignition ON.

- Wait 10 seconds.

- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: Self Test- All CMDTCs (Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

Is DTC U0101:00 or DTC U0101 set in more than one module?

Yes
INSTALL a new TCM (Transmission Control Module). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the ABS module self-test.

No
INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module . TEST the system for normal operation.
