Pinpoint Test B: All Power Windows are Inoperative

Normal Operation

Under normal operation, power is supplied to the LH front window control switch from the accessory delay relay. For regular cab and SuperCab, the LH front window control switch supplies ground for both LH and RH window motor operation. For Crew Cab, the LH front window control switch supplies power and ground for all window motor operation.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Circuit breaker

- Accessory delay relay

- Wiring, terminals or connectors

- LH front window control switch

PINPOINT TEST B : ALL POWER WINDOWS ARE INOPERATIVE

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

B1 CHECK VOLTAGE TO LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

- Disconnect: LH Front Window Control Switch C504A (Crew Cab) or C535 (regular and SuperCab).

- Ignition ON.

- Measure the voltage between LH front window control switch C504A-2 (Crew Cab) or C535-7 (regular and SuperCab), circuit CBP01 (BU), harness side and ground.

Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

Yes
GO to B3.

No
VERIFY BCM (Body Control Module) circuit breaker 48 (30A) is OK. If OK, GO to B2.

If not OK, REFER to the Wiring Diagrams to identify the possible causes of the circuit short. [1][2]Diagrams By Number

B2 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH POWER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

- Ignition OFF.

- Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D.

- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504A-2 (Crew Cab) or C535-7 (regular and SuperCab), circuit CBP01 (BU), harness side and BCM (Body Control Module) C2280D-27, circuit CBP01 (BU), harness side.

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test F to DIAGNOSE the accessory delay relay system. Pinpoint Test F: The Delayed Accessory is Inoperative
No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

B3 CHECK THE LH FRONT WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH GROUND

- Ignition OFF.

- Measure the resistance between LH front window control switch C504B-7 (Crew Cab) or C535-2 (regular and SuperCab), circuit GD137 (BK/WH), harness side and ground.

Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?

Yes
INSTALL a new LH front window control switch. REFER to Window Control Switch .

No
REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
