Engine Control Components - Exploded View, 6.8L (3V)
Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor
NOTE: Lubricate the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.
Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor
NOTE: The accessory drive belt must be removed to perform this procedure.
NOTE: The A/C compressor must be positioned aside to access the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor, it is not necessary to remove the A/C compressor from the vehicle.
NOTE: Lubricate the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation.
NOTE: After installing the CKP (Crankshaft Position) sensor, use the scan tool to perform the Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction procedure, following the on-screen instructions.
Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) Sensor
NOTE: The intake manifold must be removed to perform this procedure. For additional information, refer to Engine.
NOTE: Do not reuse the CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) sensor, install a new one. Coat the new CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) sensor threads with high temperature nickel anti-seize lubricant prior to installation.
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS)
NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and/or Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS) with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.
NOTE: Apply anti-seize to the threads of the HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor) and/or CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor) prior to installing.
NOTE: The correct torque wrench setting must be calculated when using the Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket to install the HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor) and/or CMS (Catalyst Monitor Sensor).
Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) Actuator
NOTE: The air cleaner outlet pipe must be removed to perform this procedure.
NOTE: Lubricate the IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control) actuator rod pivot pin with clean engine oil prior to installation.
Knock Sensor (KS)
NOTE: The intake manifold must be removed to perform this procedure. For additional information, refer to Engine.
Removal and Installation
